Minnetonka Beach residents can cast early ballots at City Hall through Monday, Nov. 2, ahead of the Nov. 3 state general election.
The city posted a notice Wednesday, Oct. 28, confirming that in-person early voting has been available at 2945 Westwood Road since Friday, Oct. 16. The location is open to city residents only, according to the Minnesota Secretary of State's office.
Early voting allows voters to place their ballot directly into a ballot tabulator at their local election office. The early voting law took effect in 2026, requiring every county to offer at least one location, according to the Secretary of State's office.
Hours and extended schedule
Minnetonka Beach's city clerk confirmed that early voting follows City Hall's regular business hours, including a closure from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. City Hall closes at noon on Fridays.
The city notice highlights two days of extended hours:
- Saturday, Oct. 31: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 1: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The city clerk also confirmed extended hours for Monday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m., with City Hall closed from noon to 1 p.m.
Registration and statewide turnout
The deadline to register before the election has passed, but Minnesotans can register when they vote early or on Election Day with proof of identity and residence, according to the Secretary of State's office.
Statewide, 202,252 ballots had been cast during absentee voting as of Oct. 15, the Secretary of State's office reported. That total included 80,870 in-person votes and 121,382 mail-in ballots.
